is a specialized form of physical therapy delivered with the hands as opposed to a device or machine. In manual therapy, practitioners use their hands to put pressure on muscle tissue and manipulate joints in an attempt to decrease back pain caused by muscle spasm, muscle tension, and joint dysfunction. This specialized form of treatment helps to reduce swelling, pain, soft tissue restrictions, mobilize joints, and restore motion and function. Consists of manual techniques such as manual traction, massage, mobilization/manipulation and lymphatic drainage.
For this program you will need access to weighted gym equipment: cables, dumbbells/kettlebells, and bands. As well as some accessory equipment like a swiss ball, medicine ball. However, if you have limited access to equipment there are exercise alternatives so you can still participate.
The sessions are organized into 4 x 15-25 min core workout sessions, allowing you to incorporate them before your workouts, after your workouts, or as standalone core workout session.
This program is designed to be comprehensive, with each day and week building on the last. However, you don’t need to complete every single session to see progress. The fourth workout each week is entirely optional.
While this program isn’t individualized, we believe that intentional movement is essential for recovery—and that gradual, mindful progression is key. Core workouts done with proper form and focus can actually support relief from back pain.

I suffered from back pain, shoulder pain, and ankle pain due to my age and years of inactivity. Going back to the gym to start getting in shape only aggravated the issue. I went to see Dr. Jenny Brennecke to see if she could help. I have to say that she is a miracle worker. She was able to diagnose my situation and determine the best correct course of action for me to alleviate my pain. This consisted of a combination of physical therapy and home stretching exercises. While I required several sessions with her initially, I was able to gradually scale back to occasional as needed visits. I still do my home stretching exercises that Jenny prescribed, but am now pain free and much more mobile. Although I’m an older man in age, I now feel like a young man in mobility and spirit.
